Compass Surgical, AJSI Orlando Collaborate to Open Orthopedic ASC in Orlando

Compass Surgical Partners of Raleigh, North Carolina, an ASC development and management partner, announced a new collaboration with Advanced Joint & Spine Institute Orlando (AJSI Orlando) of Orlando, Florida. Launching early this year by a managing team of physicians in cooperation with Compass, the new ASC will offer outpatient spine, total joint replacement and other orthopedic surgeries, as well as interventional pain management procedures, according to a release.

Conceived and developed by the physician group, the 17,584-square-foot facility at 7974 Lake Underhill Road, Suite A, in Orlando will be one of the largest freestanding surgery centers in Florida with state-of-the-art equipment, according to the release. By offering surgeries that will cost less overall and typically require lower copays than those conducted in hospital inpatient settings, the ASC will make high-quality care more affordable for patients in the Orlando region.

“Compass is proud to support our physician collaborators in launching this exceptional facility that will increase the accessibility of top-flight outpatient care,” said DJ Hill, chief executive officer of Compass, in the release. “AJSI Orlando will add a new level of convenience and comfort to Orlando’s surgical offerings, sparking a meaningful improvement in quality of life for both the patients it serves and the physicians who deliver their care.”

AJSI Orlando will seek Medicare deemed status accreditation through the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, empowered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to confirm the compliance of ASCs.

“We’re excited to commit our expertise and comprehensive support to this new venture that will advance the state of surgical care in a major Florida city and American tourism hub,” said Tommy Kline, market president for Compass, in the release. “Our growth in this key region illustrates our dedication to improving access to world-class surgical care across our nation.”
