Bend Surgery Center Participates in Breast Cancer Awareness Run
OCTOBER 25, 2024
Bend Surgery Center in Bend, Oregon, participated in the annual Heaven Can Wait 5K earlier this month. With 25 members representing the ASC, Bend Surgery Center’s team was the third largest among the more than 50 teams that took part in the 25th anniversary of the run. More than 1,000 people attended and the event raised more than $110,000, says Todd Currier, CASC, administrator of the surgery center.
“Bend Surgery Center has supported this event for several years,” Currier says. “The last two years the Bend Surgery Center’s Culture Club—our employee led group—has developed a team of our staff and family members to provide support.”
The Heaven Can Wait run draws hundreds together with a shared mission to raise funds for Sara’s Project, a fund of St. Charles Foundation. “Sara’s Project provides education, early detection and support services to ease the challenges of breast cancer for people in Central and Eastern Oregon,” according to the website.
“At Bend Surgery Center, we are committed to raising awareness and supporting causes that empower patients and the community,” Currier says. “As part of Bend Surgery Center’s multispecialty delivery, we provide several procedures related to cancer detection and intervention. We are proud to stand by our patients every step of the way, offering the care and resources they need on their journey.”
