ACHC Highlights Milestones in Annual Report

In its latest annual report released earlier this month, the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) of Cary, North Carolina, showcases accomplishments from 2023.

  • ACHC established an architecture for expansion—both physical and intangible—breaking ground on an extended corporate campus in Cary, and introducing a cloud-based platform, set to launch in early 2025, that integrates the customer experience with tools used by ACHC surveyors and staff. (Page 1)
  • ACHCU held its largest academy education event to date, with five tracks, 14 exhibitors, 73 sessions and two keynotes. (Pages 2–3)
  • ACHC celebrated renewed deeming status from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for acute care hospitals as well as for ASCs. ACHC laboratories also were granted renewed deeming status under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments program, while dialysis was granted renewed deeming authority under the End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) program. (Pages 4–5)
  • The organization's pioneering approach to accreditation has been on full display, particularly with regard to non-deemed programs like palliative care. (Pages 6–7)
  • ACHC Partnership for Accreditation Quality launched in 2023, allowing industry leaders in home health and hospice care to discuss industry trends and accreditation needs through this invitation-only consortium. (Page 8)
  • The Surveyor Quality Review findings offer critical peer-to-peer benchmarking for accredited organizations and guidance on corrective action for noted deficiencies. (Pages 12–20)
