New Orthopedic ASC Opens in Tennessee

Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance (TOA), in partnership with Ascension Saint Thomas and United Surgical Partners International (USPI), hosted an open house last week to celebrate the official opening of Westlawn Surgery Center, Rutherford County’s first dedicated orthopedic ASC, according to a release.

Strategically located on the top floor of TOA’s building in the heart of the growing Westlawn community in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, this milestone marks a significant investment in expanding access to outpatient surgical services that are convenient, cost effective and patient centered. The 13,000-square-foot facility includes three surgical suites, preop and recovery areas, and the latest advancements in imaging and surgical technology, according to the release.

“We’re proud to expand in Murfreesboro, delivering our full spectrum of advanced orthopedic specialty care to the growing Westlawn community,” said Rob Simmons, chief executive officer (CEO) of TOA, in the release. “Our team is committed to helping patients get back to the life they love, and this new center allows us to do that more efficiently and effectively, all in one location.”

Westlawn Surgery Center is designed specifically to meet the rising demand for outpatient orthopedic and pain management care, offering a tailored experience to enhance both recovery and outcomes, according to the release. As part of the full Westlawn medical campus, the center is seamlessly integrated with TOA physician offices, orthopedic-specific urgent care, imaging and diagnostics, physical therapy and rehabilitation, and Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, and is adjacent to Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Westlawn hospital, which opened in March 2023.

Together, these services represent a comprehensive ecosystem of musculoskeletal care, all located within one campus to streamline the patient journey from diagnosis through recovery, according to the release.
