Complete and accurate pharmacy documentation is essential for patient safety and regulatory compliance, but it does not have to be painful. Because the requirements are scattered throughout the guidelines for licensing and accreditation standards, it can seem overwhelming to stay compliant. During my presentation, “Pharmacy Documentation: Tips for Patient Safety and Survey Success,” at the ASCA 2025 Conference & Expo, April 30–May 3, in Denver, Colorado, I will cover the most problematic and commonly cited documentation issues and provide pharmacy management advice you can use to keep your patients safe, reduce facility liability, and make your surveys a breeze. I will also discuss pharmacy documentation in a practical and easy-to-implement way, allowing ASCs to apply simple solutions that will improve patient safety and make licensing and accreditation surveys easier.
