Privado Health Names ASCA Board President as its COO

Privado Health, an ASC management and development company that launched on November 1, has named Mandy Hawkins, RN, CASC, CAIP, as its chief operating officer, according to a release. Hawkins, president of the ASCA Board of Directors, also serves on the education committee of the South Carolina Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, is the executive chair of the South Carolina Lowcountry Healthcare Preparedness Coalition and sits on the ASC Quality Collaboration’s strategic planning committee, which develops, measures and publicly reports national ASC quality data.

“I have been in the healthcare industry for over 20 years and the interest in the ASC model continues to grow," Hawkins said in the release. "Physicians are able to have quality of life and more control over the way they operate. I’m excited to be joining such a highly engaged and driven executive team at Privado Health. We are dedicating our efforts to make a difference in our ASC community through high-quality patient care, operational efficiencies and technology.”

Privado Health is launching with a proprietary EHR software and a team of industry leaders. The new management company has designed a specific framework to help boost productivity for nurses, techs and every other employee in the surgery centers, according to the release. The company's proprietary technology has been built from the ground up by working with ASC employees across the country to help understand their unique needs. Privado will build new surgery centers and also manage existing centers looking for process improvements.
