Last Chance to Sign Up for ASCA 2018

Registration is still open for ASCA 2018, April 11–14, in Boston, Massachusetts. ASCA’s annual meeting this year offers invaluable networking opportunities, more than 60 educational sessions with top experts in ASC management, special infection prevention training, continuing education credit and a one-of-a-kind opportunity to meet with more than 200 ASC product and service providers all in one room.

ASCA’s annual meeting this year also offers 17 sessions featuring advanced content in key ASC operational areas including strategic planning, cyber security, regulatory compliance, managing a cross-generational team and financial benchmarking. These advanced sessions—indicated in the schedule with a red “A”—are designed for ASC employees who have the basics in their respective fields covered and are looking to take their skills to the next level. Q1 2018 Benchmarking Data Collection Now Open

The data collection period for the first quarter (Q1) of ASCA’s 2018 Clinical & Operational Benchmarking Survey is open from April 1–30. Subscribers should make sure to submit their data before the deadline to get a complete picture of the trends for the year. The survey provides vital data that allows you to improve clinical outcomes, staff indicators and billing performance at your ASC.

BASC to Offer CAIP Certification

The Board of Ambulatory Surgery Certification (BASC) will offer the Certified Ambulatory Infection Preventionist (CAIP) certification starting this fall. The first exam for the new certification program will be offered October 1–31, 2018, in testing centers around the country. Electronic applications for the October testing period will be accepted August 1–31, 2018.
