Surg-Assist Advances Immediate Revenues for Surgical/Medical Procedures

Surg-Assist advances immediate revenue to providers of surgical procedures on many invoices that otherwise would be aging account receivables that may never be collectable!

Surg-Assist will review various requests for funding from surgical providers including ASCs when the procedures are performed on a LIEN or “Letter of Protection “basis. These procedures will have been performed in the context of a pending personal injury case where the fees for services are not covered (or are inadequately covered) by the patient`s own insurance or are not covered by another source such as Medicare or Medicaid.  The provider will operate under an arrangement where the fees for services will be a “LIEN” (a/k/a “Letter of Protection”) filed with the Patient's Attorney.  While fees for services , under this arrangement,  will usually be paid at the conclusion of the Personal Injury case from the proceeds of a settlement  or verdict from the responsible Defendant/Party ( which successful outcome is always uncertain and with risk),  Surg-Assist  will step in upon an application or request of the Medical/Surgical Provider (facility) and IMMEDIATELY FUND, TO THE PROVIDER, a portion of the outstanding fees  in exchange for the rights to collect on the outstanding  LIEN or “Letter of Protection”, by a document known as an “Assignment”.  The “Assignment” will be filed with the Patient's Attorney who acknowledges that the Attorney will honor the “Assignment” terms.

Some FUNDINGS can be advanced to the Provider in anticipation of scheduled SURGICAL procedures based on appropriate documentation. Those FUNDINGS will be in amounts consistent with the statements for “SERVICES to be RENDERED” as indicated by the Provider.

All cases presented to Surg-Assist for funding are reviewed by Surg-Assist   underwriting staff which will consider various factors such as likelihood of success of the pending Personal Injury case, reasonable conservative value of the recovery, amount of Insurance coverage of the Defendant/Responsible party ( or other source of funds for recovery i.e.: a government agency or similar) and other appropriate factors. Most cases presented for funding QUALIFY and are FUNDED. The amount which is advanced may vary relevant to the factors reviewed by the underwriter but generally an advance will be a substantial amount of the LIEN or “Letter of Protection” amount.  In many cases additional compensation generated by the final payoff of the LIEN or “Letter of Protection”, that exceeds a certain basic return to Surg-Assist  , is divided equally between the Assignor (Provider) and Surg-Assist .

Surg-Assist   will undertake, in the context of the “Assignment”, the servicing responsibility to monitor the progress of the pending Personal Injury case, keep the Provider advised of the case status,  and review with the Attorney  all circumstances that may be presented which could warrant a compromise of the LIEN or “Letter of Protection” payoff. Surg-Assist will consult with the Assignor/Medical Provider regarding the issue of a compromised payoff and will communicate the amount of the acceptable compromise (if any) to the Attorney.
