The Illinois Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (IASCA) announced the election of Melissa Rice as its new president for the 2025–2027 term, according to a release.
Rice brings more than two decades of healthcare experience to her new role, including extensive leadership in ASC operations, regulatory compliance and strategic development. She currently serves as the administrator of Loyola Ambulatory Surgery Center at Oakbrook Terrace in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, according to the release.
As an IASCA board member and a mentor in ASCA’s ASC Administrator Development Program, Rice has been a vocal advocate for advancing ASC standards and promoting collaborative leadership. Her election reflects the association’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and strong representation in state and national healthcare policy, according to the release.
“I am honored to serve as president of IASCA and look forward to working with our members to strengthen the voice of ambulatory surgery centers across Illinois,” Rice said in the release. “Together, we can continue to improve patient outcomes, support our clinical teams and navigate the evolving healthcare landscape.”
Rice succeeds Jeany Dunaway, RN, CASC, whose leadership helped guide IASCA through a period of growth and advocacy, according to the release.
