Four State Associations Score Important Policy Wins in 2022

Connecticut and Pennsylvania secure changes while Massachusetts and Washington stave off negative legislation

As the COVID-19 pandemic faded from state legislative agendas, state legislatures in 2022 turned back to regular business, including core issues affecting ASC operations. The Connecticut and Pennsylvania ASC associations both secured long-awaited policy changes, impacting Connecticut ASCs’ finances and expanding Pennsylvania ASCs’ ability to perform procedures approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Also last year, both the Massachusetts and Washington State ASC associations halted legislation that would have prohibited ASCs from charging facility fees.
