Regent Surgical Names its First CINO

Regent Surgical Health, owner, operator and strategic partner for physician-hospital ASC joint ventures, named Jess Elmquist as chief innovation officer (CINO) and executive vice president (EVP) of human capital, according to a release.

Elmquist brings 20 years of experience to Regent. During his tenure with Life Time, he advanced in sales and marketing to senior leadership roles in human resources to become the chief learning officer and EVP of human resources. He grew the nationwide team to 40,000 employees in 152 locations.

“Jess is a mentor, leader and innovator in his field and knows what it takes to build a dynamic talent pool while staying true to a company’s culture and mission,” said Chris Bishop, chief executive officer of Regent, in the release. “At this stage in our growth, Regent will benefit from Jess’s passion and vision for developing strategies to attract and retain talent, increase employee engagement and define paths for our team to grow and flourish at Regent.”

Elmquist earned a graduate degree in organizational psychology and change leadership from Columbia University, New York. Prior to working at Life Time, he served in public education as a teacher, mentor and coach.
