Preparation for an ASC cardiovascular procedure begins in the clinic, when a patient learns that their cardiologist wants to perform their procedure in a surgery center. This initial conversation is where a patient’s comfort level with an ASC is established, says Robert Iaffaldano, MD, cardiologist and medical director of Premier Cardiac Surgery Center in Merrionette Park, Illinois.
