Honest and open communication, thoughtful accommodation can help

Identifying whether a patient has a disability is an essential component of delivering care at Mentor Surgery Center in Mentor, Ohio, says Administrator Carrie Marut, RN. “Every patient who comes here is special, whether they have disabilities or not. But recognizing when a patient has a disability and providing thoughtful accommodation allows us to make that patient feel valued and properly cared for.”
