The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is expected to release its 2027 inpatient prospective payment system final rule this month. Back in June, ASCA submitted comments in response to a request for information included in the 2027 inpatient prospective payment system proposed rule and pushed back against potentially including ASCs in the Transforming Episode Accountability Model. This model is based on episode-based payments and is currently in the first performance year for acute care hospitals.
